Substance Use Disorder

The Path to Sobriety

Your family history of substance abuse has caused such trauma, anxiety, or depression that you now require medication.

You struggle with an internal battle on a daily basis. Shame and guilt permeate your thoughts because of the things you have lost or almost lost due to your use.

Often, you call yourself an outcast, loser, or some other degrading term because you assume that’s how the world sees you.

Even though you’ve completed some form of treatment and have gotten sober, you know you could relapse at any time on any day.

I Understand Your Struggle

I have lived addiction, I have studied addiction, and I have learned to embrace the struggles I have underneath substance abuse.

I have become aware of my insecurities and learned to recognize when they influence my life.

Because I’ve experienced what you’re going through, I know how to be a resource for education, support, and provide a safe place for you to talk about anything.

As a man who has been sober for a decade, it is important to me to give you the experience that I wish I had early on.

The Importance of a Support System

The main reason I love working with people who have Substance Use Disorder is because of the humility they exhibit once they have admitted to having a problem.

It shows courage, responsibility, and the desire for growth.

I know that you are doing this work for yourself, but I believe that this part of recovery works best when you are surrounded by people who understand you and don’t judge you.

After all, there is no better way to recover than with the help and support of others.

How I Will Support You

Together, we will explore the therapeutic treatment best suited for you and use that treatment to work towards your goals.

Along with tailored treatment, I also utilize the 12-step Recovery Model and strongly believe in pairing it with Medication-Assistant Treatment.

You will learn to take responsibility for your life but also accept what you do and do not have control over.

More than anything, I support whatever you use that will keep you alive and moving forward in your life.

What Therapy With Me Is Like

You can expect to reflect on your past, receive homework between sessions, and discuss how to be present in the here and now.

I’m not afraid to call you out on things that don’t make sense, but I’ll call you out with compassion and respect.

I’ll teach you how to fully embrace recovery. Because when you surrender to recovery, when you have willingness and consistency, you’ll be able to find peace in your life.

You Can Do This

I will teach you how to rebuild trust in broken relationships. You’ll learn new ways to communicate and how to set boundaries.

My goal is to empower you to live a life in which you love yourself and have the capacity to love others.
